Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools is seeking a Paraeducator, Learning Support for a one-on-one role supporting students with special needs under the supervision of a certificated teacher. This 3 hours per day, 9 months per year position requires patience, reliability, and strong communication.

The successful candidate will assist with instruction, behavior support, data collection, and collaboration with educational staff to help students meet learning goals and stay engaged in the classroom.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, with additional college credits or degree preferred.
• Official transcripts or ETS ParaPro results required per application.
• One year of related experience with children preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication abilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Support students under the guidance of teachers in individual and small group settings.
• Assist with classroom activities, data entry, and progress monitoring.
• Deliver reading, writing, math, and social/behavioral instruction as needed.
• Use adaptive technologies and maintain confidentiality.
• Attend trainings and collaborate with staff to support students with special needs.
