Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools seeks a Special Program Paraeducator 2 for integration of communication and sensory supports. This one-on-one role assists a student with individualized instruction in a Vancouver, WA classroom. It runs 6.5 hours daily for 9 months and is non-exempt.

The position involves implementing activities, data collection, teamwork with teachers and specialists, and delivering essential supports to enable participation and progress in daily learning.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree or 90Q/60S credits or ParaPro 455+.
• One year of related experience preferred.
• Experience in educational teams is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Ability to support students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with implementing goals and IEPs.
• Monitor and record student progress and data.
• Provide behavior support and classroom management.
• Prepare materials and maintain documentation for lessons.
• Support self-regulation and sensory/communication needs.
• Attend team meetings and collaborate with staff.
