Job summary

King Elementary in Vancouver, Washington seeks a Special Program Paraeducator 2 for the Integrated Communication & Sensory Program. This one-on-one role works 6.5 hours per day, 9 months per year, under the supervision of the classroom and Special Ed teacher.

The position requires collaboration with the educational team, implementation of IEP goals, and consistent support for students with disabilities. Flexibility and commitment to student success are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Possible equivalencies: Associate’s degree or 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits or ParaPro score 455+.
• One year of related experience in an educational setting preferred.
• Experience in teamwork and collaboration preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in implementing and evaluating goals and objectives on individual IEPs.
• Support students with disabilities in daily classroom activities and routines.
• Monitor student behavior and provide data for progress reports.
• Participate in team meetings and communicate observations to certificated staff.
• Assist with preparing materials and maintain data collection records.
• Attend training and perform other tasks as assigned by administration.
