Job summary

Walnut Grove Elementary in Vancouver, WA, seeks a Special Program Paraeducator 2 for the Integrated Communication & Sensory Program. This 1:1 position offers 3 hours per day, 9 months per year, starting immediately, with a non-exempt status.

Responsibilities include supporting the classroom and therapist collaboration, implementing IEP goals, data collection, and assisting with behavioral management and safety procedures for students with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Documentation verifying a high school diploma or GED AND
• Official transcripts verifying an Associate’s degree OR 72 quarter/48 semester credits OR ParaPro score 455+
• One year of related experience preferred
• Experience on an educational team and with students with disabilities preferred
• Strong interpersonal, analytical and conflict resolution skills

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with implementing and evaluating IEP goals.
• Support students with autism and related needs in class and activities.
• Collect data and maintain records as directed by certificated staff.
• Assist with behavior management plans and de-escalation techniques.
• Participate in team meetings and communicate observations to staff.
