Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools Seeks a Special Program Paraeducator 2 for the Integrated Social Emotional Program (ISEP). This one-on-one role is 6.5 hours per day, 9 months per year, non-exempt.

The position supports students with disabilities, works with instructional staff, and participates in IEP-related activities and training. Applicants should submit official transcripts or ParaPro results as required.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED and related coursework or credentials.
• Official transcripts or ParaPro assessment results as required.
• 1 year of related experience preferred.
• Experience in educational teams and working with students with disabilities preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to lift, escort students, observe and report behaviors.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in implementing and evaluating IEP goals.
• Provide instructional assistance to students in small groups or individually.
• De-escalate students during emotional/behavioral crises.
• Observe and record student behavior data.
• Prepare teaching materials and maintain data records.
• Attend team meetings and participate in training.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure safety and support in the classroom.
