Job summary

The US Oncology Network, Texas Oncology’s Medical Center-San Antonio clinic, seeks a Scheduler to join the team in a full-time capacity. You will schedule patient appointments and tests, handle incoming calls, and serve as the liaison between patients and medical staff to ensure timely, accurate care.

Under supervision, you will coordinate referrals and pre-certifications, manage insurance authorizations, and assist with billing-related tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0-3 years of medical office experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Answers incoming calls and directs to appropriate staff.
• Schedules new and returning patients and referrals in the computer system.
• Obtains and enters insurance authorizations and referrals in EMR.
• Collects co-pays, deductibles and other out-of-pocket amounts.
• Maintains primary scheduling template and coordinates physician meetings.
• Arranges for patients to have financial counseling as needed.
• Demonstrates confidentiality and protects patient information.
• Supports front office operations and covers other functions as needed.
