US Oncology Network is seeking a Scheduler to join the Texas Oncology team in San Antonio. This full-time role supports scheduling for patients, tests, and referrals, while serving as a liaison between patients and medical staff.

The Scheduler handles incoming calls, coordinates with physicians, collects payments, and ensures accuracy in the EMR. This position may involve coordinating pre-certifications and pre-operative scheduling as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–3 years’ experience in a medical office setting preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) required.

Responsibilities

• Answers all incoming calls and directs to appropriate personnel.
• Schedules new and returning patients and referrals in the EMR per physician/office guidelines.
• Obtains insurance authorization and correspondence related to referrals.
• Collects co-pays, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket amounts at visit.
• Maintains scheduling templates and coordinates pre-certifications when needed.
• Schedules outpatient appointments/tests/surgeries as requested and communicates test specifics.
