Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Patient Access Coordinator to manage appointment scheduling and ensure timely, accurate patient records and communication. You will coordinate with physicians and service lines to integrate new patients and support oncology care teams.

The role requires strong communication skills, medical terminology familiarity, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • PC knowledge required.
  • Interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required.
  • At least 1 year experience in a Patient Access department.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent in healthcare, insurance, or physician practice.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate appointment scheduling as directed by physician orders.
  • Ensure records and medical documentation arrive before patient’s first appointment.
  • Communicate pivotal information for integrating new patients into each service line.
  • Involve patients in directing their plan of care.
  • Collaborate with hospital disciplines to achieve timely, accurate outcomes.
  • Support care across Hematology/Oncology, Surgical Oncology, and Medical Oncology.
  • Accommodate expanded hours and weekend coverage as needed.
