Job summary

Sutter Health is seeking a Patient Services Clerk to serve as the first point of contact for patients at the cancer center facility. You will greet and check-in patients, verify information, schedule appointments, and update the Electronic Health Record (EHR).

Qualifications

• 1 year of recent relevant experience.
• HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Checks-in patients and ensures all necessary authorizations are obtained prior to patient visits.
• Obtains patients medical history and insurance information to complete forms for processing.
• Communicates with patients in a clear and professional manner to alleviate confusion and expedite processes.
• Ensures routine and priority tasks are completed within established departmental time frames.
• Answers phones and greets customers and patients on a daily basis.
• Prepares and completes accurate documentation, including updating patient medical and insurance information.
• Maintains a clean, neat, and safe working environment.
• Performs job responsibilities in compliance with policies and procedures and protects PHI.
