Job summary

Willamette Valley Cancer Institute is seeking a Patient Services Coordinator to join their team in Eugene, Oregon. This role registers and schedules patient appointments, answers calls, screens inquiries, and relays messages between patients and clinical staff, ensuring efficient patient flow.

You will handle paperwork, collect co-pays, maintain demographics and insurance data, and uphold confidentiality under HIPAA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Surgical care coordination preferred.
• Must complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying position.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and coordinates procedures and operations at multiple facilities.
• Collects, proofs and files patient forms; updates demographics and insurance information; collects co-pays and balances.
• Answers, screens, and routes routine questions; pages clinic personnel as appropriate; communicates messages accurately and timely.
• Schedules returning appointments per physician/office guidelines; provides appointment details to patients.
• Records patient cancellations and reschedules; notifies staff and notes in patient chart.
• Adheres to confidentiality, HIPAA laws and guidelines regarding patient records.
• Other duties as requested; may type memos and forms.
