Job summary

Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital in Mooresville, NC is seeking an Oncology New Patient Coordinator to register patients, schedule visits and coordinate care for new oncology patients.

You will work with disease groups, providers and care teams, collect records, explain cancer care pathways, and ensure timely appointments while upholding Duke's values.

Hours are Mon–Fri 8:30am–5pm, location Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital; strong communication and organization are essential.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience in a health care or health care scheduling position and 3 years' experience of relevant work experience (call center, health care scheduling, financial clearance, customer service, education) required with no degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
• With Bachelor's Degree, 1 year relevant work experience in a health care or health care scheduling position.

Responsibilities

• The Oncology New Patient Coordinator registers new patients, schedules appointments, collects records and coordinates care activities.
• Coordinates patient care with disease group providers and care teams to ensure timely access to oncology services.
• Obtains and reviews prior records, assembles new patient packets, and educates patients about cancer types, diagnoses and treatment pathways.
• Maintains professional communication with patients and families, and supports a positive patient experience.
