Job summary

Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital in Mooresville, North Carolina seeks an Oncology New Patient Coordinator (NPC) to lead patient registration, scheduling and care coordination for new oncology patients.

Responsibilities include handling referrals, coordinating appointments across disease groups, reviewing medical records, and ensuring timely, accurate data entry in Epic systems. Strong customer service and teamwork in a fast-paced clinic environment are required.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience in a health care or health care scheduling position.
• 3 years' experience of relevant work experience (call center, health care scheduling, financial clearance, customer service, education) required with no degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
• With Bachelor's Degree, 1 year relevant work experience in a health care or health care scheduling position.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling: initial contact and coordination of oncology care, manage referrals, schedule appointments, educate patients about cancer care.
• Record Coordination: collect and index medical records from multiple institutions, use EPIC/PowerShare to retrieve/upload records.
• Patient Review: participate in daily/weekly new patient reviews, document health history and referral details, ensure readiness for visits.
• Additional Duties: participate in departmental meetings, advise supervisor, coordinate program objectives and communications.
