Job summary

Duke Health seeks a dedicated Nursing Care Assistant to support the inpatient Medical Oncology unit at Duke Raleigh Hospital. You will work alongside RNs and LPNs, perform basic patient care, and help maintain a safe, compassionate environment for adults undergoing cancer treatment.

This role requires completing a Nurse Aide program and NC NAI/NAII licensure, BCLS certification, and the ability to stand for long shifts on the 7pm–7am schedule.

Qualifications

• Completion of Level I Nurse Aide education program or NC Nurse Aide I & II training.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• NA I/NA II licensure with NC Board of Nursing.
• BCLS certification must be maintained by hire orientation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients, equipment and supplies for procedures and provide manual assistance.
• Record patient data for medical records and inform RN/LPN of changes.
• Administer basic care including feeding, bathing, hygiene, and comfort.
• Take vital signs, document I&O, and report changes to nursing staff.
• Assist with admission, discharge, and transportation of patients.
• Acknowledge orders in EMR and verify treatments and tests.
