Job summary

Duke Raleigh Hospital, a campus of Duke University Health System, seeks a Nursing Care Assistant II (CNA) for the Inpatient Surgical Oncology unit on the night shift. You will prepare patients, assist with procedures, monitor vital signs, record data in the EMR, and support routine care under RN/LPN supervision.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to perform routine and special patient care procedures.
• Solid understanding of sanitation and safety protocols in hospital settings.
• Ability to document and communicate patient information accurately in EMR.
• Experience collaborating with RNs and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients, equipment and supplies for procedures and provide manual assistance as required.
• Obtain and record patient data for medical records and inform RN/LPN.
• Administer basic care including feeding, bathing, dressing, mobility and comfort measures.
• Assist with measurements, turning, dressing changes and patient positioning as directed.
• Record vital signs and intake/output; monitor changes in patient condition and report to RN/LPN.
• Assist with admissions, discharges and transportation; maintain clean, stocked work areas.
