Job summary

Duke Health's Duke Raleigh Hospital in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Nursing Care Assistant I for the inpatient Medical Oncology unit (Unit 5200) on the day shift. The NA works with RN/LPN to provide direct patient care, maintain charts, and support non-direct patient care activities.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, recording data, helping with procedures, vital signs, I&O, and EMR documentation.

Qualifications

• Completion of a NC-approved Nurse Aide I program.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current NA I certification with no substantiated findings.
• BCLS certification must be maintained/completed by start of employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients, equipment and supplies for procedures.
• Obtain and record patient data for medical records.
• Take and record vital signs and I&O.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transportation of patients.
• Assist with wound care and dressing changes as needed.
• Document care in the EMR and maintain patient charts.
