Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a Nursing Care Assistant II (CNA) for the Inpatient Medical Oncology Unit on the Night Shift at Duke Raleigh Hospital. This on-site role involves direct patient care, coordination with RN/LPN teams, and performing routine tasks in a 37-bed oncology unit.

Hours are 7pm–7am, three 12-hour shifts per week. The NA II assists with procedures, documentation, and patient comfort while upholding safety standards and infection control policies.

Qualifications

• Completion of Level I Nurse Aide education program approved by the NC Board of Nursing.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BCLS certification must be maintained/completed by end of new hire orientation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients, equipment and supplies for procedures and provide manual assistance as required.
• Record patient data for medical records and inform RN/LPN.
• Assist with activities of daily living and basic care, including feeding, bathing and hygiene.
• Support nursing staff with treatments, vital signs, and documentation in EMR.
• Assist with admission, discharge and transport as needed.
• Perform clerical tasks and manage patient care information in the unit.
