Job summary

Merck is seeking an Associate Director, Oncology Key Accounts to serve as the primary contact for large oncology group practices and integrated delivery networks focused on oncology and hematology. The role is field-based with responsibility for accounts in Texas, and the candidate should reside in the geography.

The position emphasizes leadership, account management, and clinical proficiency to maximize portfolio utilization, align resources, and improve patient outcomes through collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of sales experience OR a minimum of high school diploma with at least 10 years of equivalent experience
• Equivalent healthcare/science experience with oncology focus considered in lieu of sales experience
• Minimum of 2 years of healthcare, life sciences, sales, account management or managed care experience
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to build relationships with senior healthcare executives
• Strong understanding of healthcare ecosystem
• Exceptional communication skills across cultures
• Leadership skills for cross-functional collaboration
• Willingness to travel ~50%

Responsibilities

• Establishes strategic approach to the account in alignment with marketing guidance and patient outcomes
• Builds trust with key decision makers and stakeholders; identifies resources that align with customer needs
• Uses approved tools to capture and communicate customer information internally
• Leads cross-functional collaboration to optimize contract pull-through and access points
• Provides disease and product information to decision makers within accounts
