Job summary

AON American Oncology Network's Hematology Oncology of Indiana is seeking a Patient Services Specialist to manage patient intake, scheduling, medical records, and payments with a focus on accuracy and excellent customer service in a busy clinic.

The role supports scheduling, billing, and HIPAA-compliant documentation across multiple stations, with cross-coverage and a team-oriented environment. High school diploma required; associate degree preferred; 1 year healthcare experience suggested.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma; Associates degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience in a healthcare setting; physician office experience preferred.
• Skills: Strong customer service, communication, and organizational abilities; able to multitask in a multi-site environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and caregivers to create a welcoming environment and verify identity and demographic data in the EMR.
• Schedule and manage patient appointments, coordinate physician requests, and reschedule as needed.
• Create and update patient charts in EMR and billing systems; handle records requests per HIPAA.
• Collect and post patient payments and assist with daily reconciliation; communicate with Financial Counselors as needed.
• Adhere to regulations and assist across multiple Patient Services stations as required.
