Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a friendly receptionist to serve as the front line for patients, visitors and providers in our Freeport, IL location. You will handle scheduling, registration in Epic, cash handling and general office support.

Responsibilities include answering calls, routing messages, greeting guests, processing mail and supplies, and supporting patient check-in and privacy requirements. Prior medical reception experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous medical reception or reception experience preferred.
• Good interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of keyboard skills and medical terminology preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Epic preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and route to appropriate personnel.
• Retrieve and forward voicemail messages.
• Greet visitors and manage lobby interactions.
• Process mail, supplies, and office equipment.
• Support Epic scheduling and patient registration workflows.
• Collect co-payments and post payments in Epic.
• Complete daily cash drawer close and petty cash logs.
