Job summary

Hornblower seeks a Server aboard a Coast Guard-inspected passenger vessel. You will deliver meals and beverages, greet guests, take orders, and maintain service quality to support a superior onboard experience.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 1 year in high-volume dining, ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and availability nights/weekends/holidays. Strong communication and computer skills support the RESPECT service system on board.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year experience in high-volume restaurant.
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Must be available for nights, weekends and holidays.
• Strong customer service, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional hospitality to guests and coworkers as prescribed in our service systems.
• Greet guests and serve food and beverages in a timely fashion.
• Accurately take orders and enter them into the point-of-sale system.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of all areas and stations.
• Participate in the guest entertainment experience.
• Set up and break down dining areas and service stations; move furniture as needed.
• Collect payment from guests for onboard purchases.
• Provide information about menu, service, entertainment, cruise route.
• Be prepared to begin work at the scheduled time.
• Maintain uniform and grooming per appearance standards.
• Assist with greeting and seating guests as they arrive.
• Additional duties as assigned.
