Job summary

First Student is seeking a Dispatcher for on-site operations to coordinate daily routes, communicate with drivers, and respond quickly to service changes to keep students and passengers moving safely and on time.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, plus the ability to learn dispatch systems and two-way radios in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in dispatch, transportation, logistics, driving, or similar operations preferred.
• Strong verbal communication and customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily routes, schedules, vehicle assignments, and driver coverage.
• Manage radio and telephone communications with drivers and other operational staff.
• Respond to call-outs, delays, route changes, vehicle issues, and other service disruptions.
• Monitor routes and help ensure transportation services are operating safely and on schedule.
• Communicate route changes, service issues, and other updates to team members.
• Assist drivers and monitors with operational questions and issues.
• Maintain dispatch logs and documentation.
