Job summary

First Student, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Dispatcher to coordinate bus schedules and ensure on-time performance across routes. You will manage high-volume communications with drivers, monitors, and customers while supporting daily operations.

The role requires 3–5 years of dispatch or transportation experience, strong English communication, and basic radio equipment knowledge. This is a full-time on-site position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in dispatch or transportation coordination.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work under deadlines and handle high-volume calls.
• DOT drug testing compliance experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees routes and bus scheduling.
• Counsels and coaches drivers and monitors.
• Handles heavy phone and radio traffic.
• Manages driver complaints and reports to supervisor/contract manager.
• Serves as liaison with contracted customers.
• May assist with charter reservations, billing, or payroll.
• Provides solutions for drop-off and pickup problems.
• Performs clerical duties as needed and supports day-to-day operations.
