Job summary

Essex Property Trust in Hayward, California seeks a Community Relations Representative to act as the main in-person contact for residents, managing communications and move-in/out processes with a focus on outstanding customer service and professionalism.

You will work on-site five days a week at an Essex office, coordinating with the Community Management Team, assisting with resident events, and ensuring compliance with Fair Housing, OSHA, and local codes while handling confidential information

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Commitment to exceptional customer service.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-volume hub.
• On-site work five days per week.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with property management or CRM software.
• Fluent English reading, writing and speaking.
• Ability to use a personal smart device for property operations apps.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary in-person contact for residents.
• Manage communications and inquiries via the CRM system.
• Facilitate move-in/out processes and handle related paperwork.
• Address resident questions in-person or virtually as needed.
• Maintain portfolio knowledge and respond to tasks in Funnel.
• Collaborate with Community Management Team to support operations.
• Assist in organizing resident events across the portfolio.
• Protect confidential resident and property information.
• Adhere to company policies, laws, and safety standards.
• Regular attendance and flexibility for weekends.
