Job summary

HomeFirst is seeking a Temporary Resident Advocate to oversee on-site operations, assist program participants, and ensure safety and compliance. The role requires compassionate client service, trauma-informed care, and strong communication skills.

The Advocate will manage HMIS notes, intake assessments, and housing plan updates, while supporting staff with daily site needs and events. Reporting to the Program Manager, this temporary, full-time position offers benefits and a structured schedule

Qualifications

• AA degree or two years of higher education in social services.
• Lived experience OR understanding of the needs of unhoused population.
• Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Direct client service and safety checks for participants and guests.
• Enter notes into HMIS within 3 business days.
• Complete intake and VI-SPDAT assessments for potential participants.
• Develop and update personalized housing plans with participants.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct at all times.
• Assist with set-up and break-down of shelter activities and events.
