Job summary

ABB Installation Products Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of ABB QC hardware and software at customer sites in Demopolis, AL.

You will work independently or with a site team, travel up to 15% for training and support, and document all activities for compliant maintenance. You'll use electrical test equipment, read electrical drawings, and apply safety procedures while resolving on-site issues and supporting

Qualifications

• Associate degree and 5+ years related experience OR HS diploma with 7+ years experience.
• Mechanical/electrical aptitude with basic electrical theory and safety.
• Ability to read electrical drawings for troubleshooting up to 240 VAC/870 VDC.
• Able to identify voltage levels above 240 VAC/870 VDC and use basic hand tools.
• Travel up to 15% for training and site support.

Responsibilities

• Maintain quality control hardware and software on-site.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues with frame and sensor package.
• Support on-site with testing, installations, upgrades and new functionality.
• Answer customer questions and resolve service-related issues on-site.
• On-call 24-hour emergency support; team rotation.
• Accurately document work for preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Coordinate work with other groups to meet commitments.
• Work safely following HSE policies.
