Job summary

Harborview Medical Center in Seattle is seeking a part-time Program Assistant for the Ambulatory Surgery Unit and PACU. The role requires on-site presence with a 36-hour workweek and day shift, supporting patient check-ins, scheduling, and referrals.

You will perform general clerical duties, escort patients, and coordinate interpreters and transport within the facility, ensuring privacy and professional service.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent is required.
• Two years of full-time clerical experience or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Float between ASU and PACU patient care areas and waiting areas, performing clerical duties as directed.
• Respond to patient questions and provide directions to clinics, units and support services.
• Assist patients in accessing hospital and community services by consulting and making referrals.
• Ensure a positive first impression of the clinic while maintaining patient privacy.
• Schedule appointments for new, returning, ancillary and procedures.
• Obtain authorizations and complete required documentation.
• Coordinate interpreters for patients and arrange patient transportation within the facility.
