Job summary

Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA is seeking a Program Assistant for the Ambulatory Surgery Unit's PACU. This on-site, part-time role (36 hours/week) supports clerical tasks, patient check-in, scheduling, and logistics to ensure smooth patient flow.

Responsibilities include answering calls, screening mail, escorting patients, arranging transportation, and coordinating interpreters when needed. Prior clerical experience and a high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of full-time clerical experience OR equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Float between ASU and PACU areas and waiting areas to assist with patient check-in.
• Respond to patient questions and provide directions to clinics and services.
• Assist patients in accessing hospital and community services by referrals.
• Schedule appointments in line with guidelines.
• Coordinate interpreters and patient transportation as needed.
