Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs on trucks and trailers in a field environment. You will diagnose, repair, and document work using company tools and an iOS app, while adhering to safety and DOT requirements.

The role requires hands-on work with electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems, plus driving a service vehicle to perform tasks at customer sites.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 3 years of related field experience or 5 years equivalent.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools to perform duties.
• ASE certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment screening and DOT physical as required.
• Valid DOT medical card or ability to obtain one.
• Must be 21+ years old and have a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Make minor adjustments/repairs on electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems.
• Inspect and repair trailer equipment: brakes, air lines, liftgates, and related systems.
• Diagnose and repair equipment using standard tests and handheld instruments.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper operation.
