Job summary

Cox Fleet in the United States is hiring a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform DOT inspections, PMs, light repairs and diagnostics in a mobile/field setting. The role emphasizes working with diesel systems, electrical components, and trailer equipment while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The technician will document work, manage parts on the service truck, and coordinate with supervisors to estimate repairs and obtain approvals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years related experience or 5 years in related field.
• Ability to obtain ASE T8 certification within 18 months.
• Willingness to complete DOT pre-employment background check and DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and PM on light, medium and heavy vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling systems and engine-related issues.
• Service trailers, brakes, air lines, and hydraulic components.
• Road test vehicles and verify proper operation after repairs and adjustments.
• Maintain accurate repair orders and communicate findings to management.
