Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light repairs for light to heavy-duty vehicles at customers' locations nationwide.

The role requires ASE certification within 18 months, DOT compliance, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced field environment. A valid driver's license and access to a service truck are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3 years in a related field, or 5 years of related experience.
• Own and provide a set of hand tools suitable for diesel tech duties.
• ASE certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months and DOT-regulated pre-employment checks.
• Must meet DOT/FMCSA requirements; able to pass DOT physical and background screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on trucks and trailers in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems in various vehicles and trailers.
• Inspect, test, and document work using handheld devices and company TRAIT app.
• Maintain service truck, conduct safety checks, and manage parts from vendors as needed.
• Coordinate with customers and management to obtain approvals and track RO findings.
