Job summary

Cox Fleet in Anaheim, CA is seeking a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs in a mobile/field setting. The role requires diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues on trucks and trailers, with parts managed from the service truck and documented on RO via TRAIT app.

Applicants should have a HS diploma or GED, 3 years in related field (or 5 years), tool set, and DOT/ASE qualifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 3 years in related field or 5 years experience.
• Possess a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• This position follows DOT/FMCSA regulations with background screening and DOT medical requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain DOT Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and follow up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and transmission systems.
• Diagnose and repair trailer components including brakes, air lines, liftgates, and weld/fabrication as needed.
• Inspect, road test and document findings; maintain service truck and safety checks.
• Coordinate with management to obtain approvals and parts from vendors as needed.
