Job summary

Cox Fleet in Los Angeles, CA is hiring a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light repairs on trucks and trailers in a mobile/field environment.

You will diagnose faults, perform repairs, manage parts on the service truck, document work on Repair Orders using TRAIT, and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations while delivering safe, reliable fleet service.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required; 3 years related field experience or equivalent
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months
• DOT pre-employment background check and DOT physical compliance
• Must be at least 21 years old with valid driverc license
• Must supply a set of hand tools for job duties

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling and engine systems on trucks and trailers
• Inspect, test, and diagnose defective equipment using handheld test instruments
• Keep service truck stocked with parts and document work on RO via TRAIT app
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals on repair estimates and POs
• Maintain safety, health and environmental policies and ensure DOT/OSHA compliance
