Job summary

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician I to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light to heavy repairs in a mobile/field environment. You will diagnose electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems, conduct road tests, and triage complex repairs while acting as a site lead for customers and technicians.

Requirements include a HS Diploma or GED with 3+ years in a related field, DOT compliance, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent with relevant experience.
• 3+ years in a related field; DOT/FMCSA familiarity preferred.
• Must be able to complete DOT pre-employment requirements and possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair Electrical/Brake/Cooling systems, engine electronics, transmissions, and other truck equipment.
• Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using handheld tools and diagnostic devices.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and maintain company vehicle with daily safety checks.
