Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and various repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose electrical, braking, cooling and engine systems, road-test vehicles, and manage parts inventory on the service truck.

You must hold a HS diploma or GED and have relevant experience, with ASE T8 certification within 18 months preferred. The role supports Cox Fleet's nationwide mobile service network and service centers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 3 years in related field, or 5 years experience.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• Must supply a set of hand tools.
• DOT/FMCSA regulatory compliance and background screening required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environments.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and hydraulic systems on trucks.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and safety.
• Document work on Repair Orders using TRAIT app and upload photos.
• Manage parts inventory on the service truck and coordinate with vendors.
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals and discuss RO findings.
