Job summary

Cox Fleet in Houston seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light to heavy repairs in a mobile/field environment. You will diagnose and repair truck systems, document findings, and work with a Sr Technician to ensure quality and safety.

This role requires ASE T8 certification within 18 months (preferred), a HS diploma or GED with relevant experience, and a valid CDL/driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 3 years in related field or 5 years in related field.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools essential for job duties.
• DOT/FMCSA regulatory pre-employment screening and DOT physical compliance.
• Valid DOT medical card or ability to obtain one; 21+ years old.
• Valid state driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose, adjust and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and drivetrain systems.
• Inspect, test, and listen for malfunctions using diagnostic tools and hand tools.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and document work on Repair Orders via TRAIT app.
