Job summary

Cox Automotive USA is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II – DOT to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs on a fleet of light to heavy trucks. Work will involve on-site and field service across Cox Fleet locations, with a company vehicle provided for field duties.

The role requires DOT/FMCSA compliance, ASE certifications preferred, and strong problem-solving abilities. Typical schedule is 8:00–4:00 with remote work options available depending on location and needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED with 3 years of related experience; or equivalent
• ASE/T3–T7 certifications preferred
• DOT FMCSA regulated requirements must be met or obtainable

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs.
• Diagnose, adjust and repair truck systems including electrical, braking, cooling and engine electronics.
• Use diagnostic tools and lift equipment to inspect, test and troubleshoot vehicle systems.
• Road test vehicles to identify issues and verify repairs.
• Maintain service truck and telematics unit, manage parts and inventory.
• Complete safety checks and pre/post-trip inspections.
• Communicate with customers and management to provide updates and obtain approvals.
