Job summary

Cox Fleet, a Cox Automotive company, is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II- DOT to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs on a range of trucks and trailers in the field. You’ll operate a company‑provided service vehicle and work across a multi‑center network to keep commercial fleets moving.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED and 3 years of related experience, or equivalent experience.
• ASE certification within 18 months of employment.
• DOT/FMCSA regulatory requirements and ability to pass pre-employment screenings.
• Valid driver’s license and interstate operating authority.
• DOT medical card or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs.
• Diagnose, adjust and repair electrical/brake/cooling systems, engines, transmissions, and related components.
• Utilize hand tools, diagnostic equipment and test gear to inspect and troubleshoot vehicle systems.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure safe operation.
• Maintain service truck, telematics unit and manage parts/inventory for repairs.
