Job summary

Cox Fleet, a Cox Automotive company, is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II- DOT to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty trucks at customer sites across service regions. You will operate a company-provided service vehicle and support field service for multiple fleets.

The role emphasizes independence, safety compliance, and strong communication with customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3+ years related experience, or higher education with 1 year related work experience, or 5 years without a degree.
• Must provide personal hand tools to perform job duties.
• Ability to obtain ASE certification T8 within 18 months of employment.
• Must pass DOT pre-employment screening and DOT physical; DOT card acceptable if valid >4 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and DOT inspections on light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling and engine systems in the field.
• Use diagnostic equipment and handheld devices to test and document findings.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and safety.
• Manage parts and vehicle equipment and reconcile inventory for service trucks.
