Job summary

Cox Automotive’s Cox Fleet division is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II - DOT to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced repairs in a mobile/field setting across the U.S.

Schedule: Sunday–Thursday, 9 am–5 pm, with 100% travel. You will document work on Repair Orders via an iOS TRAIT app, manage parts and tools, and ensure DOT compliance while delivering high-quality service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with DOT-related training or certifications preferred.
• 3+ years in a related field; experience with refrigerated equipment is a plus.
• Must pass DOT pre-employment screening and DOT physical as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on light to heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems on trucks and trailers.
• Inspect, test, and diagnose defects using handheld tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and safety, document findings in RO via TRAIT.
• Maintain inventory on the service truck and coordinate with management for approvals.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and FMCSA/DOT regulations.
