Mission Rock Residential is hiring for an Assistant Service Manager at the Jade at Avondale, Decatur, GA. The role supports the Service Manager and may lead maintenance staff, ensuring property standards and legal compliance.

The position requires diagnosing repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and more, plus coordinating maintenance schedules, inspections, and contractor work. Strong customer service and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Comprehension of federal fair housing laws and any applicable local housing provisions.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to relate to others, to self-regulate, and to de-escalate tense situations.
• Knowledge of general property repairs (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.).
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to multi-task, delegate, make quick decisions, analyze, and resolve problems.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist in overseeing the on-site maintenance team when applicable.
• Diagnose problems and perform repairs (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, drywall, exterior structural, appliances).
• Schedule and perform preventive maintenance and apartment turns.
• Inspect apartments before/after move-ins and move-outs.
• Respond to work orders from residents and delegate tasks as needed.
• Obtain bids and oversee contractor work for completeness.
