Job summary

Solairus Aviation is seeking an IT Specialist for a transitional part-time role in California. You will provide day-to-day IT support, manage tickets via Zendesk, and keep detailed records. The position requires on-site presence with a 24-hour minimum per week and rotating on-call duties.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year in IT support, strong communication, and the ability to work independently while adapting to changing priorities. MS 365, device management, and SaaS familiarity are valued.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in helpdesk, desktop support, or IT operations.
• Experience with Zendesk, Jira Service Management, or Freshservice.
• Familiar with ITIL concepts (incident, request, change, knowledge).
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11, Outlook.
• Experience with identity and access management (Okta/Microsoft Entra ID).
• Familiarity with MDM/UEM (Workspace ONE/Intune/Jamf).
• Experience with cloud-based SaaS like Microsoft 365, Salesforce.
• Entry-level certifications (CompTIA A+, MS 365 Fundamentals) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational IT support for the organization.
• Own and manage support requests from intake through resolution using the Zendesk ticketing system.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation, records, troubleshooting steps, and support notes in accordance with IT standards.
• Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of company information and systems.
• Prioritize and manage service requests based on urgency, business impact, and operational need.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues on laptops, desktops, and peripherals, both remotely and on-site.
• Support and troubleshoot iOS and Android devices while ensuring compliance with mobile device management (MDM) policies.
• Assist with onboarding and off-boarding activities, including device setup and access changes.
• Collaborate with IT team members on projects such as system upgrades, hardware refreshes, technology rollouts, and other operational initiatives.
• Clearly communicate technical information to non-technical users at all levels of the organization.
• Continue developing proficiency with new technologies, tools, and systems in a fast-paced environment.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, including after-hours or weekend coverage when assigned, and follow established support and escalation procedures for urgent or business-critical IT needs.
• Perform other related duties consistent with the scope of the role.
