Job summary

CBRE in Irvine, CA is seeking a Senior Building Engineer responsible for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems to keep facilities running smoothly. You’ll perform preventive and corrective maintenance, monitor operations, and apply specialized site knowledge with autonomy.

Ideal candidates have strong maintenance background, universal CFC certification, and the ability to manage energy programs and coordinate with vendors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with eight years experience in electrical systems, refrigeration and/or HVAC.
• Universal CFC certification required; additional certs in related trades are a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret documents; strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, monitor, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building equipment.
• Oversee outside contractors and ensure work meets safety and code requirements.
• Maintain energy management programs to minimize operating costs.
• Prepare estimates for tasks and manage supplies and materials.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with team to ensure continuous operation.
