Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Building Engineer in Santa Clara to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems across a multi-building campus. The role emphasizes preventative maintenance, energy management, and responsive emergency support, with safety and compliance as core requirements.

The position requires a High School Diploma or trade school, Universal CFC certification, and the ability to work onsite with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience.
• In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Universal CFC certification/EPA Universal is required.
• Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire/life safety, and control systems.
• Ensure building systems meet applicable standards and comply with codes and safety directives.
• Maintain an energy management program.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and emergency repairs as needed.
• Inspect and ensure operation of fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing equipment.
• Apply standard principles to complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
• Share knowledge with teammates and coach others in the function.
