Job summary

Ampcus, Inc. is seeking an on-site Service Engineer to provide hands-on support for enterprise data center servers and hardware, including AI infrastructure. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain Dell PowerEdge systems in a client-facing environment.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of hands-on server hardware experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently with on-call rotations in a United States client context.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise servers and data center hardware.
• Direct experience with installation, removal, diagnosis, repair, and component replacement.
• Experience with memory, CPUs, power supplies, storage, RAID/HBA, NICs, fans, PCIe components, GPUs.
• Experience with rack-mounted servers in data center, field service, or customer environments.
• Strong understanding of server hardware architecture and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Familiarity with Linux or similar operating systems.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in on-call environments.
• Strong communication skills for customer and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical support for Dell PowerEdge and other enterprise server hardware.
• Diagnose and resolve server hardware failures to minimize customer downtime.
• Perform rack-and-stack, installation, removal, and repair of memory, CPUs, power supplies, disks, and components.
• Troubleshoot BIOS/firmware, OS, and hardware diagnostics.
• Use server management tools like Dell iDRAC for updates and monitoring.
• Document service activities, replacements, and resolutions; escalate when needed.
• Work with customers and internal teams to drive resolution.
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide extended coverage as required.
