Job summary

Ampcus Inc. is seeking an experienced On-Site Service Engineer to provide hands-on support for enterprise data center servers and hardware environments, including next-generation AI infrastructure.

This hands-on role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining server hardware in data centers, field service, or customer-facing environments. Prior AI experience is not required, with emphasis on enterprise server expertise and reliability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise servers, data center hardware, or similar infrastructure.
• Direct hands-on experience with server hardware: install, remove, diagnose, repair or replace components.
• Experience diagnosing and replacing memory, CPUs, power supplies, storage, RAID/HBA, NICs, GPUs.
• Experience working with rack-mounted servers in data centers, field service, or customer environments.
• Strong understanding of server hardware architecture and troubleshooting methods.
• Experience with hardware diagnostics, BIOS/firmware, and server management tools.
• Familiarity with Linux or similar operating systems.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, travel to customer sites, and support on-call schedules.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical support for Dell PowerEdge and other enterprise server hardware.
• Diagnose and resolve server hardware failures and system issues to minimize customer downtime.
• Perform hands‑on hardware installation, removal, replacement, and repair, including: Memory, CPUs, power supplies, fans and cooling, hard drives/SSDs, RAID/HBA, NICs, PCIe components, GPUs, and motherboards.
• Perform rack-and-stack, server installation, cabling, component swaps, and hardware configuration.
• Troubleshoot issues involving server hardware, BIOS/firmware, operating systems, and hardware diagnostics.
• Perform firmware and BIOS updates and utilize server management tools such as Dell iDRAC or comparable platforms.
• Execute both reactive break/fix and preventive maintenance following established procedures.
• Troubleshoot and isolate hardware failures with documented procedures and resources.
• Work with customers and internal teams during service events to communicate status and drive resolution.
• Accurately document service activities, replacements, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
• Escalate complex issues when appropriate.
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide extended coverage; attend weekly client touchpoints.
