Job summary

TekWissen is seeking an On-Site Service Engineer to support Data Center/server hardware in Southaven, MS. This temporary 4-month assignment requires hands-on Dell PowerEdge experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work in a customer-facing environment.

Responsibilities include on-site hardware installation, repair, BIOS/firmware updates, and coordination with internal teams. Travel and on-call rotations may be involved; lifting up to 50 lbs is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years supporting enterprise servers or data center hardware.
• Direct hands-on experience with server hardware—install, remove, diagnose, repair.
• Experience replacing components such as memory, CPUs, power supplies, storage, NICs, GPUs.
• Experience with rack-mounted servers in data centers, field service, or customer environments.
• Strong understanding of server hardware architecture and troubleshooting methods.
• Familiarity with Linux or similar operating systems.
• Able to communicate clearly with customers and internal teams.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and travel to customer sites; willing to on-call support.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical support for Dell PowerEdge and other server hardware.
• Diagnose and resolve server hardware failures to minimize downtime.
• Perform hardware installation, removal, replacement, and repair.
• Troubleshoot BIOS/firmware, OS, and hardware diagnostics.
• Utilize Dell iDRAC or similar tools for server management.
• Document service activities and resolutions; escalate complex issues.
• Participate in on-call rotations as required.
