Job summary

Ampcus Inc is seeking an On-Site Service Engineer to provide hands-on support for enterprise server hardware in a Warren, Ohio data center environment. You will diagnose, repair, install, and maintain server components, ensuring minimal downtime during service events.

Experience with Dell PowerEdge and other enterprise servers is preferred. The role requires strong troubleshooting, independent work in a customer-facing setting, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs with occasional on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise servers, data center hardware, or similar infrastructure.
• Direct experience with server hardware installation, removal, diagnosis, repair, and component replacement.
• Experience with rack-mounted enterprise servers in a data center, field service, or customer environment.
• Strong understanding of server hardware architecture and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Experience with hardware diagnostics, BIOS/firmware, and server management tools.
• Familiarity with Linux or similar operating systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently diagnose hardware issues.
• Able to work independently in a customer-facing environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to support flexible and on-call schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical support for Dell PowerEdge and other enterprise server hardware.
• Diagnose and resolve server hardware failures and system issues to minimize customer downtime.
• Perform hands-on installation, removal, replacement, repair, and maintenance of server components, including: memory, CPUs, power supplies, fans, hard drives, RAID/HBA, NICs, GPUs, motherboards and other server components.
• Perform rack-and-stack activities, server installation, cabling, component swaps, and hardware configuration.
• Troubleshoot server hardware, BIOS/firmware, operating systems, and hardware diagnostic issues.
• Use server management tools such as Dell iDRAC or comparable platforms.
• Execute reactive break/fix and preventive maintenance activities in accordance with established procedures.
• Troubleshoot and isolate hardware failures using documented diagnostic procedures and technical resources.
• Work directly with customers and internal technical teams during service events.
• Communicate service status, troubleshooting progress, and resolution details clearly.
• Document service activities, hardware replacements, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions accurately.
• Escalate complex technical issues when appropriate.
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide extended coverage as required.
