Job summary

Axelon Services Corporation is seeking an On-Site Service Engineer for Warren, OH to provide hands-on support for Dell PowerEdge servers and other data center hardware. You will diagnose, repair, and update firmware while coordinating with customers and internal teams.

The role requires 3+ years of hands-on server hardware experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work on-site in a customer-facing capacity. Associate/Bachelors in IT or related field preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience supporting enterprise servers or data center hardware.
• Direct experience working on server hardware: install, diagnose, repair, and replace components.
• Experience troubleshooting components such as memory, CPUs, power supplies, storage, NICs, GPUs.
• Experience with rack‑mounted servers in data centers or customer environments.
• Strong understanding of server hardware architecture and troubleshooting methodology.
• Familiarity with Linux or similar operating systems and hardware diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical support for Dell PowerEdge and other enterprise server hardware.
• Diagnose and resolve server hardware failures to minimize customer downtime.
• Perform hands-on hardware installation, removal, and replacement of components.
• Rack-and-stack, server installation, cabling, and hardware configuration.
• Troubleshoot BIOS/firmware, OS issues, and hardware diagnostics.
• Perform firmware/BIOS updates and use server management tools like Dell iDRAC.
• Document service activities and resolutions; escalate complex issues as needed.
• Participate in on-call rotations and coordinate with customers and teams.
