Job summary

Idexcel in Southaven, MS is seeking an experienced On-Site Service Engineer to provide hands-on support for enterprise servers and hardware, including next-generation AI infrastructure. This is a hands-on server hardware / break‑fix role.

You will diagnose, repair, replace components, perform rack-and-stack, BIOS/firmware updates with iDRAC, and work with customers and internal teams. Travel and on-call coverage are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on enterprise server/data center hardware experience.
• Experience installing, diagnosing, repairing, and replacing server components.
• Experience with server hardware, rack-mounted systems, and break-fix.
• Strong knowledge of server architecture and hardware troubleshooting.
• Experience with BIOS/firmware and server management tools.
• Familiarity with Linux or similar OS.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Comfortable working independently in a customer-facing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to travel to customer sites and support on-call schedules.

Responsibilities

• Support Dell PowerEdge and other enterprise servers
• Diagnose, repair, replace, and maintain server hardware
• Replace and troubleshoot DIMMs, CPUs, PSUs, HDDs/SSDs, RAID/HBA, NICs, fans, PCIe components, GPUs, and system boards
• Perform rack-and-stack, server installation, cabling, and hardware configuration
• Troubleshoot BIOS, firmware, hardware diagnostics, and operating systems
• Perform BIOS/firmware updates using Dell iDRAC or similar tools
• Perform break/fix and preventive maintenance
• Work with customers and internal technical teams to resolve issues
• Document troubleshooting, repairs, component replacements, and resolutions
• Participate in on‑call and extended coverage
