Job summary

Gilbane Building Company in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Project Superintendent to independently supervise trade contractors on a commercial construction project valued up to $30M. This on-site role is central to the project team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management required.
• 4–8 years of superintendent experience on $15–$30M projects required.
• OSHA 30-hour certification required.
• STS-C Certification required.
• First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed training preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Directs day-to-day coordination of trade partners and sub-contractors to meet schedule.
• Develops and communicates field work plan for changes.
• Maintains contract documents and proactively addresses issues.
• Participates in constructability reviews and evaluates change impacts.
• Ensures permits are obtained for construction activities.
• Acts as primary safety representative on site.
• Leads contractor meetings and maintains project records.
• Manages and updates the project schedule with contingency plans.
• Coordinates jobsite logistics and material ordering.
• Oversees quality plan, inspections, and necessary changes.
• Mentors junior team members and assists in scope determination.
• Supports time and materials tracking as needed.
• Fosters a safe, inclusive, high-performance work environment.
